Hey, I'm Nicolás Cortés

Designer specialized in Service, Systems and Speculative Design.

MY DESIGN PRACTICE

SYSTEMS TRANSLATION

Applied Service design, speculative futures, and organizational and product structures to surface hidden dependencies, map ecosystem relationships and turn abstract strategy into design otuputs.

RELATIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Stakeholder and client relationships. My consultancy work is focused on rigorous alignment of the problem at hand and the user outcomes we expect in the projects in order to drive decisions for products and services.

SPEED THROUGH CLARITY

Resolve ambiguity early (with the use of varoious artifacts or design devices) so teams can move fast with steady decision making.

CONCEPTUAL SCAFFOLDING

I help build the architecture for the design. Decision trees, service blueprints, semantic hierarchies. Structure as strategy before AI or high fidelity design.

About

I like to explore, imagine and design systems and futures for organizations, products and the people within them. I'm more interested in architecture and choreographer mindsets over the custodian or gatekeeper role. Mapping and finding the hidden dependencies, the political landscape, and the question that isn't being ask yet, is where design decisions can start to happen.
